Academy Funeral Services is well known for its beautiful award-winning gardens.

Established by Peter Lawrence after he moved the firm to its Main South Road location in 1988, the gardens have been winning awards for 20 years. Peaceful corners are highlighted by fountains and ponds, making the perfect setting for a funeral service.

Established in 1982 by Peter Lawrence and Geoffrey Hall, Academy Funeral Services was originally located on the corner of Walker and Montreal Streets in the central city. Three years later, Geoffrey Hall left to set up his own firm and in 1988, Academy moved to its present location in premises previously used as a church.

Since then, we have worked hard to make our chapel and catering facilities as modern and comfortable as possible for the community we serve.
